Ima Wright

1918 - 2013

Mrs. Ima Lee Wright, age 94, of Buncombe, Georgia passed away on September 6, 2013. She was born on November 12, 1918 in Carroll County, Georgia to the late William David Lee and Myrtie Akers Lee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Earl Wright; son-in-law, Joe Ocker; grandchildren, Tracy Robinson, Curtis Scott Mann, and Teena Ann Mann; sisters, Alma Craft and Avis Bernard; and brothers, Barney, Bud, Fred, Willis, Alton, and Hugh Lee, who had over 125 years of military service between the six of them.


During her life, Mrs. Wright worked as a seamstress with Hubbard's. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.


She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Ocker of Tallapoosa, Jo Ann and Curtis Mann of Buncombe, and Carolyn and Bobby Robinson of Vidalia, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Harold 'Shorty' and Nell Wright of Bremen, GA; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 2:00 pm from Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. T.J. Morgan and Rev. Tommy McGuire officiating. Music will be provided by the Antioch Church Choir. Pallbearers serving will be Johnathon Ocker, Neal Robinson, Scott Mann, Justin Mann, Danny Johnson, Heath Williams, Ben Robinson, and David Wright.


Interment will follow in the Antioch Church Cemetery.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 8, 2013, between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00 pm.
