John LoGiudice Obituary
John V. LoGiudice, 91, of Pleasant Valley died Monday, May 10, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie. Born in Manhattan, NY on July 4, 1918, he was the son of Antonino and Marianna Freni LoGiudice. On July 16, 1960 John married Dorothy T. Mirras in Sharon, Ct.. Mrs. LoGiudice survives at home.
Mr. LoGiudice was employed at IBM in Fishkill, NY for over twenty-five years until his retirement in 1977. He served in the United States Army during WWII, stationed in Pearl Harbor during the invasion. In July of 2009 he received eight medals he earned for his outstanding service during the War. John is a member of the American Legion Post # 739 Pleasant Valley, and the Shekomeko F. & A. M Masonic Lodge # 458 in Pleasant Valley.
In addition to his wife Dorothy, he is survived by his son James J. Godfrey of Salt Point, NY, his sister Vivian Cilento of Pleasantville, NY, his brother Sammy LoGiudice of California and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother Umberto LoGiudice.
Calling hours will be held Friday, May 14, from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main St. Pleasant Valley. The Masonic Lodge will hold services at 6:30 PM and the American Legion will hold services at 6:45 PM.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday, May 15, at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, Main St. Pleasant Valley. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in John's memory to a charity of choice.
