Joshua Paul Forest Kocher, 35, was called home to our Lord on Thursday, September 8, 2016. Born January 18, 1981 to James "Jim" and Sheila Kocher. Josh, to all who knew him, was a unique and loving man who touched the lives of all who knew him. He married Angela "Angie" Mangers on July 4, 2014. He always did love fireworks! He was totally dedicated to his two sons, Gavin Michael Forrest Kocher, 15, and Gabriel Mason Kocher, 14. He always had a hug and a smile for everyone he met. Josh worked as a chef in many venues in Wichita and you were blessed if you got to enjoy one of his creations. He was preceded in death by his father, James “Jim” Kocher; aunt, Janet "Jan" George; grandma, Leta Kocher. He is survived by his loving wife, Angie; mother, Sheila Kocher; sons, Gavin and Gabriel; brother, J.C. (Allyson); sister, Jena (Scott) Cummings; grandparents, Tommy and Kathryn “Sue” Church; grandfather, James H. Kocher. Josh was killed when he rushed into a burning building and saved a group of orphans and puppies. Or maybe not? We all know Josh liked to tell stories. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. – 6:30 P.M., Monday, September 12, 2016 and funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 13, both at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East. Graveside Service will follow at Restlawn Park Cemetery, Coffeyville, KS. A fund for the education of Josh's children has been established with Meritrust Credit Union, 2900 S. Oliver St., Wichita, KS 67210.

Sheila, my heart aches for you and your family. Knowing the pain of being parted from a son way too soon, I will keep you in my prayers. The pain of separation lessens over time but never goes away. What makes it bearable is knowing one day you will be reunited and until then you just replay the good memories over and over. May God hold you close and comfort you.

Josh was just one of my kiddos when he was growing up. I had the pleasure of being the one that got to make a lot of his birthday cakes when he was a little boy( I have sent a picture of Josh with his clown birthday cake). Our family's had so many good times together playing, fishing, swimming, and just hanging out together. We haven't gotten to see each other very much for many years but you all will always be a part of my family. We love you all so very much and will treasurer all the good memories that we have shared over the years. I know that wee aren't really saying good bye we are just saying until we meet again in Heaven. God's speed Joshua Paul Forest Kocher we will always love you. Love your 2nd Mama (Kathy) and family.
