Lillie Lam Dean Obituary


      Lillie Marie Lam Dean, 79, of Elkton passed away Monday, June 20, 2016, at Sentara RMH Medical Center.  

      Lillie was born October 1, 1936, in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Thomas Henry and Mary Clementine Dean Lam.
      
      On December 21, 1955, she married, Walter Harold Dean, who preceded her in death November 18, 2009.
      
      In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by brothers, Ray Thomas Lam, Donnie Lee Lam and James William "Jimmy" Lam; sister, Ressie Anne Lam; grandsons, Anthony Eugene Beasley and Jeremy Ross Beasley; and a special nephew, Rodney Alan Williams.
      
      Lillie attended the Upper Room Church for numerous years and House of Prayer Tabernacle in Penn Laird, Va.  She taught Sunday school while attending the Upper Room Church. She worked at Preston Cleaners in Harrisonburg for many years and watched and raised many children who weren't her own.
      
      Lillie is survived by; daughter, Debra Darnelle Harris of Marion, Indiana; brothers, Robert Jackson "Bobby" Lam, Walter Ernest Lam, George "Carl" Lam, Leon Junior "Jay" Lam, Danny Leonard Lam, Archie Wayne Lam, and Kenneth Eugene (Goldie) Lam; three sisters, Vivian Shirlene Lam Atwell , Carolyn Faye Lam, Victoria "Vicky" Lam Knott; grandchild, Nathaniel "Stump" Beasley and wife, Jamie. She is also survived by Wesley Williams, J.J. Williams and Annie Williams, who she raised as her own; a loving sister-in-law, Jean Dean of Joppa, Maryland, and Doris Dean of Elkton; and three great-grandchildren, Anthony Eugene Beasley II, Lakota Ross Beasley and Kiaya Renae Beasley.
      
      A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton with Rev. Travis Hensley officiating.
      
      The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
      
      The family would like to extend their appreciation to Sentara RMH Health Center for the wonderful job and loving care they gave her.

I'm going to miss my Aunt Lilly so bad. She was a great lady. My Grandma had 15 kids and we have to watch them leave here and it's so hard but I know she earned her Angel wings.
