Margaret Lee Obituary

Margaret T. Lee, 97, of Princeton went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 5, 2020. She was born May 19, 1923 in Nansemond County, Virginia to the late Herbert T. Taylor and Eunice Jones Taylor. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Sidney “Pete” Sherwood Lee; sons, Herbie Lee and Ronnie Lee; brothers, James Earl, Leroy, Herbert Gay, William, John “J. T.” Taylor; and an infant sister.

The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home and Cremations on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 1:00 pm with the Reverend Dwayne Batten and her nephew, Reverend Phillip Taylor officiating.

There will be a time of visitation on Thursday, December 10, 2020 in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home and Cremations from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm.

Mrs. Lee was a faithful member of Princeton Baptist Church where she attended until her health declined. She was retired from Princeton Manufacturing Company.

Mrs. Lee supported her husband, “Mr. Pete”, in various capacities while he volunteered for many years in the Princeton Fire Department and Princeton Rescue.

As a teenager, Mrs. Lee played basketball at her high school in Virginia where she played the forward. She continued to enjoy the sport up to the very end of her life.

While “Mrs. Margaret’s” physical capabilities declined, she was so blessed to keep her mental wits about her, staying on top of her everyday affairs up to the very end. She had a passion for her word circle books and enjoyed them up until the Sunday before her death.

Mrs. Lee is survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and spoke fondly of over the years.

Mrs. Lee is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Mae E. Taylor of Corapeake, NC and Shirley Taylor of Virginia Beach, VA.

She is also survived by many close friends that loved her dearly.
