Maurice Dalton Bobst was born on February 17, 1927 in West Fork Township, Franklin County, Iowa to George and Minnie (Letzring) Bobst. He died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids, MN on October 28, 2018.
He is a veteran of WWII. Serving in the Merchant Marines and the Army.
After returning home, he married Donna Elliott on December 25, 1948 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Maurice and Donna lived in Iowa many years including the towns of Fertile, Mason City, and Ardale. They also lived in the Sebeka/Menahga area of MN for many years. They were “snowbirds”, spending 16 winters in Texas.
Children include Rodney (Sarah) of Menahga, MN, Roger (Sharon) of Huntsville, AL, Nancy Locke (John) of Lake Village, AR, and Robert (Linda) of Wadena, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters: Grace, Allie, Ada, Thelma, Lorna, Gen, Wilma, and Berdean; his brothers: Rollin, Duane, Marvin, Beryl, and Delbert.
He is survived by his 4 children, 10 grandchildren,7 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Private family services are being held. He will be buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Bristow, Iowa.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home, Menahga, MN.

So sad to here this news, Maurice aka Grandpa, was our neighbor for years here in Menahga. we first moved up here met him and his wife so friendly made us feel rite at home. Many great visits with him and Donna. Always so great with our kids, and wow what a talented man have a few things he made out of willow will cherish them and the great memories. Will be greatly missed! Be at peace Maurice, thoughts and prayers with the family.
