Maurice Moore Obituary

Maurice Antonio Moore was born January 11, 1966 in Detroit, Michigan to

Shirley Jean Moore who (proceeded him in death) and Henry (Hank) Harris. Maurice was

affectionately known as Tony or Moe to his family and Moeski or Moeskilove to the rest of the

world.

Tony attended Detroit Public School system and graduated from Northern Senior High

school in 1984. Tony had a competitive spirit and was a member of the Northern Eskies

championship swim team, winning countless trophies and awards. Tony was a loving

husband, doting father and grandfather, and caring friend.

Maurice met the love of his life during their teenage years. From the moment they met, Jackie

knew they would be partners for life. Not many people are fortunate enough to meet their

soulmate. Maurice and Jackie were blessed to have a beautiful and colorful 28+ years of

love and life journeys.

Tony accepted Christ as his personal savior and was baptized at New Life Church under the

pastoral leadership of his aunt Rev. Regina Johnson. Tony/Moe as we affectionately called

him was family-orientated and took pleasure in spending quality time with his children and

grandchildren. Moeski was the Head Chef at the Stardust Lounge in Inkster, Michigan where

everyone was family. Tony had a passion for cooking and one of his favorite specialties was

steak, shrimp and grits, which was enjoyed by many. He also had a passion for video games,

playing chess, and shooting pool. Tony loved to laugh and if you knew him you knew that he

was a natural jokester. He had a great fashion sense and enjoyed shopping.

There were many facets to him; surprisingly, he was also a cat and bird lover. Tony was a

talented artist who loved life.... although he had a quiet side and was content with being by

himself, others would say he was the life of any party and you couldn’t wait to see what he

was going to say or do next. Tony was music buff and especially enjoyed old school music.

Maurice had an infectious smile and a contagious laugh. He had a beautiful personality and

a positive aura. His ideologies were respected by family and friends and he was routinely

sought after for advice, always offering wise and witty words of wisdom and encouragement.

Rather you embraced him as Maurice/Moe/Tony/Moeski/Moeskilove , you were blessed to

have known him. He had an unselfish spirit and gave from his heart never expecting anything

in return. You may have often heard him say he had “The Peter Pan Syndrome” that he would

“never grow old”, because his spirit was so youthful, vibrant, carefree and jubilant. He was a

man of leisure that enjoyed life and loved to travel. His outlook is one we should all adopt in

life. Life is to short, don’t sweat the small stuff, and enjoy it with love and laughter!

He leaves his cherished memories with his loving wife; Jacqueline and his seven children;

Christopher Close, Mona’e Moore, Monaca Moore, Deneko Childs, Monetta Moore, Maurice

Antonio Moore, Jr., and Malone Mocioni Moore, his seven grandchildren, his father; Henry

(Hank) Harris (Gloria), his mother law; Waver Close, his four sisters, two brothers, five

aunts, two uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 13. Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.
14. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

God has called you home too soon for me and no words will ever express how much Im missing you.
I love you baby and for you, Im going to stay SWEET!
Sleep well for now my brother and I will see you in the by and by.

Love Sis.

You will forever live on through us!!!!!!!!! Ill never forget you=¯=¯=¯=¯=O<þ=O<þ=O<þ=O<þ=O<þ=O<þ=O<þ
