I have worked with Mel for almost 10 years. The very first day I felt like she welcomed me with open arms. She was always so nice and helpful. We became good friends and she was like another mother to me. She has always had great advice and always said the right things. I have always looked up to her as a great nurse and a great person. She has opened her home to me in hard times. I can't think of anyone that would have anything bad to say about her, and really there isnt anything bad to say. She was always smiling. She would teach you anything you wanted to know. She is one of the smartest nurses I know. I have seen her save many lives and was always so calm in the most stressful situations. Magan is exactly like Mel, smart, funny, kind, and beautiful. I'm sorry for the loss. She was loved by so many. She will really be missed.

As a former R.N. at Baptist Hospital, I met Melanie in the ICU/PCU area. Melanie had a warm, nurturing spirit with words of encouragement. I realized Melanie was family- oriented as myself. We loved talking about our families. Love was written in her smile, conversation and demeanor as she spoke of Erich, her Granddaughter, and Megan. When she spoke of her family, I felt at home. Home is a place where love and comfort resides. Melanie: A loving Mother and Nurse will be dearly missed by love ones, but never forgotten. May God continue to bless your family with his loving kindness and healing, comforting hands with love and peace. Amen Vera R. Wright

My friends, Elaine and Martha, told me about Melanie on Monday at school. I am so shocked and my prayers are with you all. Melanie was a big part of my life and I am so sad. I am happy I knew her and her family. My life was blessed and I am thankful for the time we did share; that can't be erased. Melanie was a giving individual and well-loved by all who knew her. She loved her family. Just like her parents, always provided for them. Melanie loved the beach, so while her toes are on the sandy shore of heaven I know she is happy and I know God has told her, "Melanie, job well done." I will see you again, Melanie. :)
Prayers are lifted up to all family and friends.

I'm shocked and so sorry to see this sad news. I went to high school with Melanie and was in her wedding. We lost touch over the years. She was such a sweet, funny, great, and caring friend. I bet she was the best nurse anyone could have! My regards go out to her mom, dad, brother Kevin, and the rest of her family.
God Bless you all~

In my heart, a void is left that no one can fill. My dear friend leaves memories that will live on. This is a journey we all will take, just not a journey for her to take so soon. I sit here this mornng as I write this remembering years past of all the laughs and cries we shared. I will miss that laugh of yours and great sense of humor. To Mel's family you are in my prayers and she will be missed dearly.
