Survived by Collene Sinclair Lynch, his loving wife of 47 years; children, Erin and Dianne; his brother, Tim (Lucy) and their family; and the entire Sinclair Clan.

It is so beautiful to see how "Ukulele Mike" continues to receive ongoing tributes from those of us he reached and immensely helped through his YouTube Channel, as well as how Mike´s channel continues to help so many every day! What a blessing that his family has kept Mike´s video lessons, musical advice and insights active all these years after Mike´s unexpected and untimely passing. I am forever grateful for all you have done for every one of us in the ukulele community who continues to use enjoy and benefit from your lessons. You´ll be forever missed, but always cherished!

Even after all these years the videos that Mike posted are my 'go to' recommendation for those who join our ukulele group. More then a few have started their journey with the ukulele based on his teaching. Some have even gone on to play in our performance group - Aloha Ukulele Strummers. He will always hold a special place in our hearts for his willingness to spend time to share his love of the ukulele with others.

Mike's videos is what helped me get started with the ukulele, and really accelerated my love of music throughout my adolescents and teenage years. Just today a former student of mine asked where I learned to play the ukulele, and I had the opportunity to share Mike's videos with her, and unintentionally discovered his late passing. I am honored to have learned from him, and to pass his lessons on to the next generation.

I just found Ukulele Mike today on YouTube, browsing for videos on Christmas music. I loved his video and style of teaching and was looking for more when I found out he had passed. I didn't know him, but was so sad! Even though it's been 2+ years, i can see posts still today to remember him which is so great. He left something wonderful behind to memorialize his passion for music.

I am so sorry to hear about Ukulele Mike's passing. From when I first picked up the ukulele, Mike was my favorite source for learning songs. He was so generous and such a great teacher. I was just dusting off my ukulele after a while away, and went to Mike's page and learned of his passing. My condolences to his family and friends, and my sincere thanks for all he has done for his thousands of his fans and followers around the world. When I start playing Ukulele in 2013, I have no idea to learn ukulele.I can only play guitar. I cant search ukulele lesson in my country becoz our country musician doesnt friendly with ukulele. When i searching Ukulele Lesson in You Tube. I saw Uncle Mike Ukulele Lesson. I m watched and learned many ukulele lesson from Uncle Mike. Now, Our country very friendly with ukulele. I remembered Uncle Mike.Now i m just remembered him and watch his lesson, i saw some comment, he passed away its been 2yrs.

Mike, you taught me and our little Missoulaukuladies group so many songs. We have entertained many in nursing homes, the senior citizens center and played for funerals. Oh no, how truly tragic. Im a still total beginner on uke and have LOVED to see Mike on my screen. I missed that he had passed away since he is there, still there for us. He was wonderful as a teacher! And his help in opening up a world of music to a music illiterate like me, at age 65 when I thought I would never be able to participate in music, really means a whole lot to me. I mean that sincerely. My deepest and belated sympathies.

In so many ways Ukulele Mike gave me back the gift of music. I hadn't picked up a musical instrument since high school when at 44 an ukulele found its way into my life. Ukulele Mike taught me how to play that ukulele through his YouTube lessons. At a recent business event I gave away four ukuleles and I was looking up some Ukulele Mike videos to share with one of the winners when I learned of Mike's passing. His legacy will live on through the many many students he had, and will continue to teach through his videos, books, and students. His influence passing from him through his students will continue to make the world a better more peaceful place.

Tonight I was watching a Ukulele Mike YouTube video for the first time in more than a year and scrolled down to the comments and found out he had passed away. I am so sad to hear this. I loved practicing the ukulele with his videos. I thought someday I would make a trip to Washington state and try to look him up. He seemed to be such a kind man. I am happy to know he was a spiritual man and is now up in Heaven with God. I pray his family is doing better and God continues to supply them. Many condolences - you will be missed!

I just learned about Mr. Michael B. Lynch passing and am SAD. I found ukulele Mike on youtube ukulele lessons over 7 years ago. I always enjoyed and liked his tutorials and music. I often recommended him to others. My condolence to his wife and family. RIP ukulele Mike.

Ukulele Mike taught me to play over the Internet a few years ago. My niece wants to learn so I googled him to show her who could teach her and I saw he had passed. I started watching Mike from a very young age. I didnt have many friends at the time and I grew up watching and learning from his videos and he felt like a friend to me. I just learned (almost a year late) about Ukulele Mikes passing. I am so sorry. His tutorials on YouTube have helped me no end since I began playing uke six years ago. He was such a great teacher and seemed to have a wonderful caring spirit. I love his playing of Finlandia, too, among many other pieces. I wanted to do his uke cruise someday but it is not to be. We just learned about Michael's passing and are devastated. He's touched so many lives and created a new generation of musicians around the world and because of the beauty of the internet, he will continue to do so. I hope his family will keep his youtube page for years to come so that his generosity, gift, and love of music can live on in the generations to come.

I'm so sorry that "Ukulele Mike" who brought joy, great teaching and encouragement to this slow-learning,
beginning ukulele player has passed away. I wished I had found him on You Tube while he was alive to Thank him directly. My sympathies to his family.

I would like to say how much I loved learning to play a ukulele from Mike. I searched for others and found him and so grateful for that. My poodle had passed away at 18 1/2 years old and I needed to heal. Mike was there. I am so very sorry to find out he had passed away. What a calming and caring teacher. Will be missed.

Hello, I am a music teacher in the UK, and I have been enjoying Michael's ukulele videos for the last few years. His friendly and jolly personality came through strongly in the videos and he always came across as a genuinely descent and warm person. I only discovered yesterday that he had passed away this year and I felt deeply saddened by this and wanted to thank him for sharing his music online and also sharing his own warm character. Of all the many channels that exist on Youtube his was one of the more genuine contributions that I am sure inspired many to enjoy their music. My condolences to Michael's family for their loss.

I was so sad to read of Mike's death. I took up the ukulele 4-5 years ago and quickly found Mike's lessons on line. He's by far the best teacher I've come across - clear, enthusiastic, encouraging and so knowledgeable. Plus, he just seemed like a great guy. I remember smiling when I read a comment to one of Mike's Youtube lessons.....the online student asked if Mike might consider becoming his adopted grandfather... I send my heart felt condolences.

Late to this news, but heartbroken. Over 5 years ago, during a very difficult time in my life I bought a ukulele and found Ukulele Mikes videos and through them, through his kind, gentle, open, and connected way of teaching was able to ride a season of physical illness, of family stress, and profound loneliness to gain confidence, a sense of community, and rediscover a joy for music and life. He saved me and I never thanked him. I discovered the news today while looking for his videos to show my son with ASD who is beginning to show interest in the ukulele. I wish I could tell Mike how much his work and encouragement meant to me. I cant, but I can pass it on, and I hope his loved ones take comfort in knowing how much he meant to so many who never met him, and how much hell mean to an even younger generation of ukulele players.

I just realized Mike died. As a new Ukulele student, he has been my go to person for practice. He was my at home teacher and friend. What a wonderful man and teacher. I only heard this yesterday. He inspired me with his homely personality and the wide range of songs he played and tutored.
So sorry for his family. He leaves behind a great legacy. Think of the millions he touched with joy and love through sharing his great gifts. My little son is following his tutorials now. I would have liked to have met him and play with him in person. We did share an email communication one time. Surely he is in Heaven. My thoughts and prayers to his family.

Cannot believe that it is only now that I have heard of Mike Lynch's passing. After playing the piano many years, I had only just picked up the ukulele. When I discovered Ukelele Mike on the world wide web it was as if I was blessed with a teacher and friend. I loved how he taught not only basic exercises and simple tunes, but also included tablature and classical music. The joy that life and music gave him was a gift to us all.
I will continue to keep his family and friends in my prayers.

A dedicated man to one of civilizations most important callings, that of being a teacher. The world is a better place due to Mike's presence. He was my inspiration for learning the ukulele and for that I am eternally grateful.

When I saw the news on the website today , although I never met Mike I immediately felt that the world had just become a less friendly and warm place. Mike's lovely kind personality came across so strongly in his youtube videos.

We are still enjoying the you tube ukelele lessons. Our daughter is confined to an electric wheelchair and cant get enough of his ukelele lessons. We found him on YouTube in February 2018 after getting s ukelele in Hawaii. Thank you for the videos. Mike has touched many souls! So had to hear hes left this world. Barbara Brown for Hannah

So sorry to learn of Mikes passing. One of our viewers alerted me. Mike composed the music for our America by Rail and other programs. He was a fantastic talent and a joy to work with.
