Paul Tyrone Washington, Sr. was called from earthly labor to heavenly rest on October 31, 2021. He was born on March 19, 1973 in Wichita, Kansas and was the youngest son of his brothers and sisters to Pastor Albert and Alice Washington. At the tender age of 10, Paul accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the tutelage of his father (who served as the Pastor) and would boldly proclaim to anyone who would listen that he was a “Child of the Most High King”. He was a 1991 graduate of Valley Center High School where he played basketball, football, and track and field events. He studied Business Management and received his Emergency Management Technician Certification from Wichita State University and where he became a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.
Paul married the love of his life Chaquetta Marie Washington on June 29, 1996, and their union was gifted with 3 sons. Paul and his family relocated from his hometown to Hoover, AL in 2008 and most recently calling San Antonio, TX home since 2015. After moving to Texas, they united with Unity Baptist Church in Copperas Cove where Richard S. Lewis Jr. serves as Pastor. He worked for over 15 years in the financial and real estate industries. His career expanded across multiple institutions, including Bank of America in Wichita, KS, Woodforest National Bank in Birmingham, AL and Chase Bank in Baton Rouge, LA. He served in multiple capacities such as the Sales & Service Manager, Vault Supervisor,
Underwriter and Remarketing & Total Loss Manager. Paul’s joyous spirit and smile left a lasting impression everywhere he went. Paul’s compromised health required him to stop working and focus on his health and family. Paul walked by faith and trusted God for all things.
Paul was given the gift of music at an early age. One of his first engagements was as a drummer for a local gospel singing group. His interest in other instruments expanded to include the piano, organ and bass guitar. Paul was able to play the piano by ear at the age of 19. Paul also established himself as a trusted gospel musician over the years. His passion for the youth and young adult choirs began at New Zion Baptist Church in Wichita, KS as the Minister of Music. Paul also served as the Minister of Music for Tabernacle Bible Church in Wichita, KS and Church of the Burning Fire in Zachary, LA. His musical gifts have been a blessing to several other ministry leaders in Kansas, Alabama, Louisiana and Texas over the years.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Pastor Albert Roy Washington, Sr. His memories will be forever treasured by his loving and supportive wife of 25 years, Mrs. Chaquetta M. Washington, his sons; Paul T. Washington, Jr., Uriah T. Washington and Isaiah A. Washington, and his daughter, Trissauna McGill. He will be missed by his beloved mother Ms. Alice M. Washington, his godchildren; Savon Allen, Darrien Jones and William Jackson II, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Chaquetta, Paul T., Uriah, Isaiah, Mother Washington and the entire family.
Let me begin, as Paul would begin, with a quote from the Bible. "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, to men on whom his favor rest” Luke 2:14. Now just to be clear, your husband, father, son, brother was the minister, not me. Paul was truly the chosen one; what my mom use to describe as those angels placed on earth for a special, specific time to impact the lives of those they encounter. If this is the case; BOY, was he successful!
We were honored to share a part of the Washington's earthly rollercoaster ride and although our hearts are broken with the news of Paul's transition, we rejoice in the fact he is home with our Lord.
Our love, most sincere condolences and prayers remain with the Washington Family.

We just learned of Paul's death; Paul was a good friend to our son Scott. Paul was a joy to be around with a smile that could light up a room. He was humble and focused on others. May our Good Lord grant you peace knowing Paul is with our Father; may He grant you strength for the days ahead; and courage to get you through the uncertainty.

I have been blessed to have watch, this man young grow up with my sons to the point
I feel as though he could be one of my own sons . He always bring joy and laughter in
the room , Paul was used by God as a instrument to help our church get a loan from
the bank when everyone else turned us down. My heart is heavy and sadden when I heard
of his passing, he will be missed deeply. We send our love and sympathy out to the family,
my wife and I will always be praying for you, asking God to keep you in perfect peace as you keep
your mind on him.
