Dick was a wonderful man and a tribute to the Michigan State Police. His humor was second only to his abilities to get the job done. He left his mark, and a good one, wherever he went. Dick was very special.

I’ll always remember Uncle Dick!! He was so fun to be around and taught us street smarts. Like the time he brought a plumber out to the rental cottage in Gatlinburg at the reunion only to have the guy come back with moonshine. He was always fun to be around and I’ll always remember his laugh. Mostly because I heard it often. That was Him!! We’ll miss you and love you Uncle Dick!! Our prayers for Aunt Jeannie, Susan, Dave, Tree, and Bethy.

I had the pleasure of working a couple of cases with Dick and I must say he represented the Michigan State Police very well. He was kind, sensitive and firm in his dealing with the public as well as other agencies. Dick Chartier was one of the good guys and I was blessed to have known him. My condolence to his family for your loss.

We are so sad to hear of Dick's passing. When our children were young we enjoyed many great times with Dick and Jean along with Dree, Andrew, Samantha and Alex! He was always up for talking about sports and he made conversations very easy. He was also quite the athlete having played catcher in the minors. Dick was such a kind and humble man! It was always great to see him at St. Daniel's Catholic Church. Most importantly Dick was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather...you will be greatly missed.
Our Prayers are with you all. Love, The Gemborys' Family
