Rodney Dale Obituary

Rodney Dale, 50, Cando, ND, died unexpectedly Thursday, December 24, 2009 at the Towner County Medical Center, Cando.

Rodney was born on December 12, 1959 to Jordan and Doralee (Halverson) Dale in the Towner County Memorial Hospital, Cando, ND. Was the youngest of six children.

Rodney grew up in Kirkland, WA and graduated from Lake Washington High School. Attended two years of auto body trade school. He was employed by Floyd Williamson in plumbing and heating.

Rodney moved to Cando in 2001, did odd jobs around town, and helped people wherever he could. Rodney cared about people and had a love for animals.

He loved to hunt and fish with his cousin, Ralph Matthews. He recently started to hunt with his friend Dr. Fanous. Rodney loved to garden, cook and make lefse; which he loved to share with people.

Rodney resided with his sister Donna and mother, Doralee.

He is survived by his mother, Doralee of Cando, brothers and sisters: Jayson & Linda Dale of Snohomish, WA, Roger & Peggy Dale of Federal Way, WA, Marilynn & Tom Wade of Melbourne, FL, Donna of Cando; many nieces, nephews, great-nephews and special friends:

Claudette Hogenson, Dr. Basem Fanous, and Dr. Jackie Downs.

Rodney was preceded in death by his father, Jordan, and his sister and brother-in-law, Janet & Dr. Douglas Johnston.

Rodney touched the lives of many people with his kindness and generosity. Our hearts are heavy as we grieve the loss of our loved one, but we know Rodney is in God’s loving hands.

Memorial service will be held Monday, December 28, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Chapel, Cando.

Inurnment will be in Redmond, Washington.
