Shirley Strahin Friend

Shirley Strahin Friend, 54, of Sundale Nursing Facility, Morgantown, formerly of Albright, died Sunday November 12, 2017 in Morgantown, due to complications of diabetes. She was surrounded by family as she passed peacefully.

She was born Oct,7 1963, in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of Melvin Strahin, and Patsy (Rodeheaver) Strahin.

She was preceded in death by her father Melvin Strahin, and her brothers Melvin "Junior" Strahin and Joey Strahin. Her grandparents, Joe and Hazel Rodeheaver and Arthur and Sarah Strahin.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sister Patty Markley and spouse Ronnie of Fellowsville, WV, her daughters; Jamie Friend of Kingwood, Jennifer McIe and spouse Michael of Albright son; Maliek Friend and spouse Megan of Dalton, Ohio. Grandchildren, Raelyn Stone, Colton Sirbaugh, Michaela McIe, Kaytie McIe, Joshua McIe, and Adrian DePetro, also Aunts, Uncles and several nieces and nephews, and her loving companion, Kenny Zeigler, of Morgantown.

She had many foster children she took in over the years and did her best to make their lives better.

Friends may call at Browning Funeral Home on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the 12 noon funeral hour. Reverend Ray Frankhouser will officiate.
