I have known Waynard for about 20 years, meeting him through the local chapter of the Association of the US Army. He gave me expert advice, twice, that helped me secure benefits for my serviced connected condition caused by Agent Orange in Vietnam. In the past few years I would occasionally see him at the VAMC, in Salem, and, in spite of needing to use a wheelchair, he always had a friendly greeting and a warm smile. Waynard was a true advocate for veterans and will be missed by me and many others.
