Scott C. Lum

Scott C. Lum, 42, of Springfield, beloved son of Mary Lum and Rob Lum, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at his home. He was born April 17, 1971 in Battle Creek. He graduated from Lakeview High School and took college classes at Ferris St. University and Western Michigan University, earning an Associate's Degree in business management. He loved watching sports with his family and enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was a very popular bartender around the area.
Scott is survived by his loving mother, Mary; his son, Hunter, whom he loved very much, a sister, Kim (Chris) Buchanan; a special friend and nephew, Brandon Lum; his fiancé Alicia Merrill and Blake Lum; an aunt, Joann Armstrong; and a cousin, Paul (Sara) Armstrong.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lum; grandparents Robert and Rita Murphy and Henry Lum.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Humane Society of South Central Michigan. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com. Mary, Kim, Hunter, Brandon and Paul,
We are so sorry for your loss. Scott was the type of guy who could always make you laugh and we certainly shared more than a couple with him over the years. Anthony always loved hanging with Scott and I know they shared a lot of laughter, a little bit of craziness, and a mutual respect for one another through a long lasting friendship.
We hope in the coming months you will find peace in the knowledge that Scott will always hold a special place in the hearts of many.
