My sympathies to Melinda and Megan on Dave's passing. Those of us hired as officers at BCPD in the mid 90's admired his knowledge of the job and his sense of humor. After his retirement, I remember him occasionally pulling up to the side of the station on his Harley. Ride like the wind Dave, we are going to miss you.

God Bless your Soul. Dave was always a man of high honor, respect and integrity. He was one of BCPD's finest, but more than that an even better man!! Three generations of our family had the privilege of working beside and getting to know Dave and it was an honor to say the least. His loss saddens us all and we will keep his entire family in our thoughts and prayers....

Sending my deepest sympothy to Melinda and Megan. I will never forget the day I was eating lunch at Antonios (a favorite among all three Adams) when I saw Dave give Melinda a surprise homecoming after a long tour oversees. At the time they were perfect strangers to me, but it was a magical moment to see the two of them embrace and cry of happiness that they were together again. There wasn't a dry eye in the place, including mine. Years later I met his daughter, Megan and learned that that was her dad surprising her mom. Megan has shared so many amazing stories about her dad. I know he will be missed by so many. God Bless.

I have known Melinda and Dave from when Melinda was my supervisor at the mall. Soon after that I was babysitting Megan for many years and I have many fond memories of the Eldred Street house. I have always looked up to Dave and Melinda and love them like family. I will miss seeing Dave at the UFC fight nights and getting my big hug from him as I always did no matter where we were and who was around. My heart goes out to you both Melinda and Megan. More than 28 yrs ago, my best friend and I were stranded at the balloon festival (my parents thought we had a ride and left). It was after midnight, we were 15, and one BCPD officer refused to leave us there. He gave us a ride to his house, where we met his very pregnant wife Melinda, gave us pops to drink, then took us to my house. As an adult, he became my friend. My husband and sons got to know him, too. When he ran for political office, I volunteered on his campaigns. Dave was one of the nicest people I have ever known. My condolences and prayers are w/ Melinda and his family. He will be missed.
