Larsen, Barbara  
Barbara M. Larsen Battle Creek Barbara Marie Larsen,  died August 1, 2015 at Bronson at Home Hospice Residence. She was born June 14, 1940, the daughter of George and Virginia (Rakowski) Shaw in Muskegon. Barbara attended Muskegon Catholic Central High School and Muskegon Community College.  She was married in 1961 to her husband of 53 years, Roger E. Larsen. After moving to Battle Creek in 1964 and starting a family, she went to work for Godfrey Jewelers for 25 years, retiring in 2009. Barbara was active with the Battle Creek Jaycees Auxiliary, the PTA, and when her children were young she was a band parent.  She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and shopping. Barbara will always be remembered for her warm personality and her friendliness. Barbara is survived by her husband, Roger E. Larsen of Battle Creek; her mother, Virginia Shaw of Muskegon; daughters, Amy (Todd) Sanford of Kalamazoo, D'Anne (Matt) Hayman of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Alyssa Sanford, Brent Sanford, Kaylan Hayman, Emma Hayman; brothers, Gerry (Sharon) Shaw of Muskegon, Raymond (Diane) Shaw of Muskegon; and sister, Judy (Edward) Pietila of Norton Shores.  She was preceded in death by her father, George Shaw. The family will receive friends from 4 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Shaw Funeral Home.  Services with Pastor Matt Hayman officiating, will take place 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, 111 East Michigan Avenue, Battle Creek, MI 49017.  Interment, Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may go to West Michigan Cancer Center or Bronson at Home Hospice Residence. Cathy Elaine Larry Albion Age 59 of Albion, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Bronson of Battle Creek. She was born December 14, 1955 in Escambia County, Alabama the daughter of Rocellious and Barbara (Riley) Etheridge. Her father precedes her in death. Also preceding her in death is a son, Anthony Larry; mother-in-law, Ola Mae Dickey; paternal grandmother, Carrie Lee Etheridge; maternal grandparents, George and Mattie Riley, Sr; sister, Theresa Elbert; sisters-in-law, Annie Luckie and Cathleen Burnett. Cathy married Joseph Larry on August 26, 1976 in Battle Creek, MI and he survives. She worked 27 years at State Farm and 7 years for Calhoun County. She enjoyed sewing, working with children and shopping, especially for shoes. She was a faithful member of   Grace Temple Church of God in Christ. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Joseph Larry; mother,  Barbara (David) Lee; son, James (Nada) Larry; siblings Michael (Sonja) Stanley, Brenda (Tony) Davis, Sandra Wimberly; brothers and sisters-in-law: James (Belinda) Larry, Edward (Janice) Larry, Terry (Anastasia) Dickey, Carolyn Reeves, Eva Dickey, Paula Evans, Jacklyn (Skip) Prater, Beatrice Webb, Melissa Dickey, Juanita Dickey and numerous extended family and close friends. Cathy's family will celebrate her life with a home going service on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Grace Temple Church of God in Christ, 711 Grace Street, Albion, MI beginning with family hour at 11:00 AM  followed by a service at 12 NOON with Pastor Stephen C. Williams officiating.  Burial will follow at Albion Memory Gardens.  Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Temple Church.
