Helen Ann Barrett, 63, of Battle Creek, MI, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 22, 2013.  She was born in Newberry, MI on June 6, 1949, the daughter of George and Margaret Moulder.

Ann (as she was known to family and friends) earned a Bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Michigan State University in 1977, and remained an avid supporter of Spartan sports.  She and her husband thoroughly enjoyed traveling; Ann's childhood home, the Upper Peninsula, was their favorite and most frequent destination.  She also loved hunting for morels every spring with her cousin Joe Smith of Milwaukee, WI.   Ann had an incredibly generous spirit; she "adopted" families in need at Christmastime and had a reputation for helping anyone she could.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Dr. Kurt Barrett; her daughters Keri (Brian) Moore, Stephanie (Scott) Saunders, Amy (Marc) Flora, and Molly (Eric) Russell; and was the proud grandmother of 8 beautiful grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Vogelsburg-Heying (Vincent) and brother Joseph Moulder (Harriet), and she had several loving nieces and nephews.  Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her infant brother, Danny.

A graveside burial service will be held at Rodney Cemetery at 11:00AM on Saturday, May 25, 2013, across from Rodney United Methodist Church, 12135 Charles Street, Rodney, MI, 49342.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pentecostal Tabernacle, P.O. Box 340, Newberry, MI, 49868 or a .
