Cleon Rex Foglesong
Cleon Rex Foglesong, 86, of Grafton, WV, died Thursday, January 30, 2014 at his residence. He was born February 2, 1927 in Bronson, Michigan, a son of the late Hugh & Freda (Parsons) Foglesong. He was a graduate of a one room schoolhouse ,"East Gilead Granson" in Bronson, MI (at the corner of Cranson and Snow Prairie Roads) Prior to his retirement, he worked for many years as a corn miller with the Kellogg Company. He graduated from Brunson High School in Brunson, MI in 1940. Rex served six years in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion and its Honor Guard, and the Elk and Moose Club
s. He loved going on vacation to Las Vegas and taking cruises. He was a fun loving guy who enjoyed golf, playing cards and dancing. He was a very loving and giving person.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Burley; second wife, Betty Dempsey; brother, Max Foglesong and a granddaughter, Kristen Thurman. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jean (Rutherford) Foglesong of Graton, WV; sister-in-law, Shirley Faunce; stepsons, Ardyn "Artie" Dempsey and wife Janice, David Dempsey and wife Jodelle, Sean Loomis and wife Tonette and Jason Webb; step daughters, Donna (Dempsey) Thurman and husband Hollis and Michelle Loomis; grandchildren, Brian Dempsey and wife Jena, Brenda (Dempsey) Alten and husband Kevin, Tim Thurman and wife Kari, Karen (Thurman) McCotter and husband Joe, David Scott Dempsey and wife Lisa, Bart Dempsey and wife Sue, Zechariah Brown, Beau Reedy and wife Kim, Zachary Loomis and wife Lauren, Eddie, Tiffany and Benjamin Loomis, Barrette, Evie and Lyla Webb; great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Erin, and Megan Dempsey, Delaney and Kaden Alten, Lailah Reedy, Carter and Quinn Loomis and many more; nieces, Kathy Frees and Leslie (Foglesong) Goslin and husband Bruce; great nephew, Josh Hann; great nieces, Megan Goslin and Tamara Carrier; great great niece Savannah; and many friends in Eustis, FL and Battle Creek, MI.
