Dorothy L. Rimer

Dorothy L. Rimer, age 94 passed away in her sleep February 19, 2014 at her residence with her loving family by her side.  Born in Detroit, Michigan on December 17, 1919 to Charles and Jenny Hiller.  On December 13, 1941 Dorothy married Charles A. Rimer in Detroit at Hope Lutheran Church.  He preceded her in death in December 1992.

Coming to Albion in 1968, she was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church as a choir member, Sunday School Teacher, Ladies Aid and Friendship League.  Dorothy also worked for the Albion Public Schools, and in her younger years she was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts in Livonia, she also worked at the Fireside Inn Marshall.

Surviving are her two sons, Gary L. Rimer of Farmington Hills, Robert C. Rimer of Albion; two daughters, Cheryl Murray and Carolyn A. Rimer both of Albion; granddaughter, Kara Mackie of Marshall.  She was preceded in death besides her husband, a brother, Burton (Elsie) Hiller and a sister Hazel (Ralph) Mill's and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 9:00AM - 10:00AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 100 Luther Blvd., Albion, Michigan 49224.  Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 10:00AM with Pastor Dennis Matyas officiating.  Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Albion.
