Duane "Duke" Brandt

Duane "Duke" Brandt Bellevue Duane "Duke" Brandt, 83, of Bellevue, died January 16, 2013 at The Oaks at Northpointe Woods. He was born November 8, 1929, the son of Wesley and Hilda (Hughes) Brandt in Convis Township. Duke graduated from Bellevue High School. He was a full time farmer, raising beef cattle and growing crops. Duke also worked at and retired from Clark Equipment. Duke was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta "Bobbi" (Greenawalt) Brandt in May of 2012 and sisters, Virginia Borgman and Elaine Schroeder. He is survived by his daughters, Sally Brandt-Taylor of Greensboro, North Carolina, Connie Jo (Rick) Dayton of Battle Creek, Diane Marie (Kim) Brandt of Durango, Colorado, and Carol Sue (Ernie) Buie of Greeneville, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and sister, Betty (Lowell) Cook of Charlotte. Duke was a member of the Bellevue Lions Club and the Michigan Cattleman's Association. He was a supporter and participant in 4-H and assisted many young people in 4-H including his daughters and several grandchildren. He was an avid supporter of the Olivet Community Schools' sports programs for over 45 years with his three amigos. Most especially, Duke loved his family and his grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4:00 p.m. and 6 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2013 at Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue. Services will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Bellevue United Methodist Church. Interment, Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may go to the Disabled American Veterans or a .
