Edward J. "Eddie" Nemrava, 84, of Battle Creek passed away comfortably at home Friday, August 2, 2013 surrounded by family.

He was born July 18, 1929, the son of James and Anna (Shumanski) Nemrava in Traverse City, Michigan. Upon graduation from Battle Creek Central, Eddie joined the U.S. Navy where he served during the Korean War. Upon his return he worked for Grand Trunk Railroad, was a 25 Year Club Member of Kellogg Company, and also started Nemrava Reality.

Eddie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean (Hughes) Nemrava; daughter Lorin (Brian) Nemrava-Bradford; grand-daughter Kyra Jade Bradford; brother-in-law Gary Hughes; nephews Roger and Gary Nemrava; niece Janice Strand. He was preceded in death by his parents; son James "Jim" Nemrava; brother Robert Nemrava; sisters Rose Wood and Helen Howlett.          

A private family service will take place after cremation. Eddie will be interred at Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue, MI.  Memorial contributions may go to The Humane Society of Southwest Michigan,
