Elaine was born in Hastings, MI to Wayne and Marion (Cooley) Pennock. She grew up in Nashville, MI on the family dairy farm (Mari-Way Farms). She often talked fondly of growing up in the country, but not so fondly of the farm chores!

Elaine was involved in various capacities in the nursing field; from direct care to manager of medical oncology. She spoke often of how touched she was by the admiration and respect directed toward her by fellow staff and her patients. Until shortly before her death, she was charge nurse of the medical oncology treatment area at the Cancer Care Center, Bronson - Battle Creek.
Elaine married in 1979 to Jon K. Manby and had two children; Aaron Christopher, and Jocelyn Elise. Elaine loved time with family, was active in events related to her profession, and loved attending to her flower gardens. She was a supportive and gracious critic of her husband's hobby of playing and recording music at the home studio!
Elaine is survived by her devoted spouse, Jon; children, Aaron (Amanda) Manby, Jocelyn (Sean) Ireland, and three grandsons; Shennen, Kellan, and Greyson. She is also survived by brother Rod Pennock, and sister, Loraine Curtiss.
