Grethel May (Williams) Lloyd

Grethel May (Williams) Lloyd Battle Creek Grethel May (Williams) Lloyd, 92, of Johnstown Township, Barry County, and formerly of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012, in Battle Creek. She was born on July 2, 1920, in Salyersville KY, to David and Ellen (Keeton) Williams. She had lived most of her life in Battle Creek and Burlington, MI. Mrs. Lloyd worked at Percy Jones Hospital, Kresge's and as a foster parent. She enjoyed gardening. She is survived by five children, Larry Lloyd, of Espanola NM, Roger Lloyd, of Phlugerville TX, Don (Denise) Lloyd, of Elkhart IN, Brenda Miller of Bellevue MI and David Lloyd, of Cleveland OH; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a half-sister, Josephine Whitley, of Colon MI, and half-brothers Ollie Williams, of Reading MI, and Arbie Williams, of Union City MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Walter Lloyd, in 1968; a sister, Kathleen Goldey, and two brothers, Junior Williams and Willard Williams. Visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Spencer Family Funeral Home, Athens. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Spencer's with Pastor Wayne Halbleib officiating. Burial Burlington Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Burlington Church of God.
