Hayley E. (Morris) Pruitt
It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Hayley Eliza (Morris) Pruitt, age 30, announces her unexpected passing at her home on Monday, December 16, 2013 in Battle Creek, MI.
She was born March 1, 1983 in Battle Creek, MI the daughter of James Neal Morris and Molly J. (Cummins) Morris-Mendenhall. Hayley was a fun-loving woman, who could spread love, joy, and laughter to all she encountered.
She graduated from Climax-Scotts High School in 2001 and received a CENA certification in nursing from KCC in 2011.
Hayley worked with her beloved mother and brothers as a floral designer and also did deliveries for the past 14 years at the Country Bouquet Florist and Furnishings in Urbandale. She had also worked as a nursing assistant at The Battle Creek Manor and Care Community.
Hayley is survived by her husband: Robert "Brian" Pruitt of Battle Creek; mother and step father: Molly J. & Stuart Mendenhall of Springfield; brothers: Dustin C. Morris of Chicago; Joshua J. Morris of Battle Creek; sister in law: Nancy L. Redmond of Battle Creek; her paternal grandmothers: Eva Jane Morris of Simi Valley, CA. and Audrey Mendenhall of Milpitas, CA; uncles: Gary & Shirley Cummins, Joe & Emilie Cummins; aunts Cindy & Roy Smith, Kathy & Ed Williams all of Battle Creek; step sons: Shawn Pruitt of Canton, MI; Zachary Pruitt and his daughter, Harper of Bellevue.
She was preceded in death by her father, James N. Morris, maternal grandparents: Carl Jr. & Mary Alice Cummins; and paternal grandfather Neal Morris.
Visitation will be held at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Thursday, December 19, 2013 where the family will be present from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 6p.m.until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 20, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. noon at the Battle Creek Evangelical Friends Church, 1305 Olive Street, Battle Creek with Pastor Kelly Hadlich and Josh Hydrick, minister officiating. Burial will follow at the Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens in Emmett Township. Memorial tributes may be made to the family, envelopes available at the funeral home.
