Jack R. Post, age 70, of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. Jack was born on February 6, 1944, in Lafayette, IN. the son of Roy N. and Eleanor (Carter) Post. Jack was a 1962 graduate of Battle Ground High School in Battle Ground, IN. He had been an area resident since 1973 coming from Indiana. Jack served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1964 to 1970. On February 4, 1967, he was united in marriage to the former Sue Gray who survives. He had been employed as a Commercial Fire Superintendent with State Farm Insurance for 40 years retiring in December of 2003. He was a member of the American Legion Post 298, former member of the Riverside Country Club and past vice president of the Men's Bowling Association. He enjoyed golf and had a hole in one at Riverside Country Club, loved watching his grandchildren's sporting events, playing cards, gardening, spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends, playing softball in his younger years, coaching girl's softball and was an avid Chicago Bears and Purdue Boilermaker fan.

Surviving are his children, Tammy (Al Sokolowski) Post Disher of Battle Creek and Sean (Megan) Post of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Brandon and Nicholas "Nick" Disher and Evelyn Post; a brother, Robert "Bob" (Flo) Post of Brookston, IN; several nieces, nephews and special friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Post Grandchildren's Scholarship Fund or Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. www.henryfuneralhome.org
