Junior "JR" Lee Bedwell
Junior "JR" Lee Bedwell, 63, of DePue, Illinois, while surrounded by his family, passed away peacefully on July 22nd at Loyola Hospital after an extended stay and illness. JR was born in Battle Creek MI on Oct 7th 1950 to Floyd and Wanita (Blett) Bedwell. JR attended Battle Creek public schools and worked for McKinney Poured Wall co. in Battle Creek before moving to Illinois
He married his beloved wife, Elaine, on July 20, 1984. Together, they were well known for their beautiful window paintings which decorated the towns within a 30 mile radius. They enjoyed traveling, running their own business, building wood crafts and attending craft shows. They spent their retirement days continuing their work and spending time with their dogs, Angel and Harley.
Besides his wife JR is survived by daughters Patricia (Adam) Smith of Battle Creek Jennifer (Carlos) Ledesma of Dallas TX Cheryl (Lenny) Smith of Battle Creek , Sandy (Ron) Knott of Peru Ill, Sons, Don Finckbone, Alan (Mary) Finckbone, Mark (Carla) Finckbone of Peru Ill he was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren
Also surviving are Sisters Florence (James) Tidwell, Janet (Mike) Denton Battle Creek, Dorothy (Roger) Gwillim of Battle Creek, Anna Mae Tidwell, Debbra Bedwell of Kalamazoo, Betty Bynum and one brother Gary Bedwell of Woodberry TN
JR also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and friends he was preceded in death by both of his parents Floyd and Wanita Bedwell and his younger brother Charles Bedwell
A wonderful husband, father, step-father and sibling, JR will be missed by many. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the members of the Loyola University teams. Their dedication and efforts to provide quality care provided an additional 8 years of wonderful life.
A visitation and memorial service will be held at Helmer-Shields Funeral Home 410 East Hopkins Avenue in Granville, IL on Saturday July 27th beginning at 9:30 a.m.
