Mattie Ann Williams Battle Creek Mattie Ann Williams, 76, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science Hospital in Little Rock, AR. Mattie A. Williams was born on July 30, 1936 in Battle Creek, MI; the daughter of Thomas Brolie and Mary Lee (Jones) Richardson. She received her education through the Battle Creek Public School System. She worked in food services for Evergreen Senior Care and Rehab Center and also at Shrank's Cafeteria for many years. During her early years she attended the Church of God in Christ and enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. Mattie was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary Richardson, brother, James Richardson and sisters, Alice Dickinson, Virginia Williams, and Lena Adams. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, June Hamstra, son, Sammie Templeton, and three loving grandchildren. Mattie is survived by her sister, Mary Frierson of Pomona, CA, brother, Nathaniel Richardson, of Battle Creek, MI, daughters, Joyce (Terry) Glenn, of Little Rock, AR and Shirley Green, of Battle Creek, MI, son, Ronnie (Patty)Templeton, of Atlanta, GA., many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and other family and friends. Visitation for family will be at 5:00 at Wednesday, January 16, 2013. At the request of the family; friends may call between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday at Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013, with Minister Marie Taylor officiating. Committal and interment will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery, located in Battle Creek, MI. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Battle Creek, MI Health Systems and Cancer Care Center.
