Michael K. Pennington
Michael K. Pennington, 54, died on Friday, July 19, 2013, at the Alamo Nursing Home in Kalamazoo, after a long illness.
Michael was born on April 6, 1959, in Battle Creek to Norman and Norvonna "Peg" (Hollister) Pennington. He graduated from Battle Creek Central high School in 1977, and graduated from Adrian College in 1981.
Michael was a restaurant manager at several different restaurants around the country, and he retired in 1986 due to illness. He was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity and was an avid coin collector. Michael loved listening to music especially the Rolling Stones and the Beatles. He enjoyed reading magazines and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Richard and Mary Pennington of Marshall, nephew and niece-in-law Curtis and Sarah Pennington of Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother David Pennington in 1971.
Family will greet friends from 9am-11am on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home with funeral services celebrating his life taking place at 11am with Reverend David Boedecker officiating. Inurnment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will gather with friends at the Kempf Funeral Home Reception Hall following the committal services. Family requests memorial contributions be made to the MS Society.
