Norman Lee Lafler, 74, of Battle Creek, MI, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 20, 2013 at his home. He was born October 7, 1938 the son of Clarence Lafler and Gladys L. (Leedy) Lafler.

Norman served in the Michigan National Guard. He and Judy were the proud owners of Pope Washer from 1967 to 1995.  He was the owner / operator of Lafler Trucking for many years and was previously employed at Grand Truck Railroad and Walters Electric.

Norman is survived by his Wife of 54 Years: Judy (Rogers) Lafler of Battle Creek, MI; Son: David (Judy) Lafler of Battle Creek, MI; Daughter: Liane (Jeff) McNeil of Battle Creek, MI; 9 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren; Brother-in-Law: William Loew Sr. of Casey, IL and 2 Nephews and 1 Niece. He was preceded in death by his Parents and Sister: Doris Loew.

Norman enjoyed volunteering with Judy at the Share Center providing Norm & Judy's Supper. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a racing fan and owned a super modified race car for many years. He also enjoyed spending time at the family cabin. He was a member of Family Bible Church and a Gideon.

Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Thursday, May 23, 2013, 2-4 & 6-8 PM.

A funeral service will be held at the Family Bible Church, 725 US Highway 27 North, Marshall, MI on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 11 AM.

Interment will be at Bedford Cemetery.

Memorial tributes may be made to the Food Bank of South Central Michigan or Gideon's International.
