Rachel M. Bottomley
Rachel M. Bottomley (nee Marshall) of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away March 17, 2014 in Battle Creek at the age of 94 years. She was born in Nashville, Michigan January 30, 1920, and married Jack D. Bottomley of Augusta, Michigan after WWII.
She is survived by sons Mark A. Bottomley of Salem, Missouri, and Grant D. Bottomley and wife of Nashville, Tennessee.
Interment was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Battle Creek on March 20, 2014 under the direction of the Royal Funeral Home, Battle Creek.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Bottomley; parents Glenn and Harriet (Hattie) Marshall (nee Shoup) of Nashville, MI; and siblings Doyle Marshall of Marshall, MI, Lo Wave Bailey, Augusta, MI, Sophia Parks, Vicksburg, MI, and Marvel Hartwell, Vermontville, MI.
Rachel worked at the U.S. Register Company in Battle Creek as a riveter during WWII, and was a long-time elevator operator in downtown Battle Creek at the Michigan National Bank building and later at the Transamerica Building (Battle Creek Tower). Memorials may be made to the Life Enrichment Program of the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility, Battle Creek.
