Robert E. Minor
It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Robert Eugene Minor, age 82, announces the passing of our dear husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Battle Creek VA Medical Center.
He was born January 6, 1931 in Ironton, OH the son of William Sherman Minor and Ida Mae (Evans) Minor.
Robert was a Class A Journeyman welder and mechanic for Edward C. Levy in Detroit, for 44 years. Robert had also served in the United States Army with the Military Police during the Korean Conflict
He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Betty Jean Minor of Battle Creek; William (Kim) Minor; Jeff (Leslie) Minor; Donald (Kathleen) Minor; daughters: Cathy (John) Bettencourt; Anita Minor; Karen (Steve) Smith; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, son - Richard Minor (April 29, 2001), two brothers: William Earl Minor and Curtis Minor; two sisters: Marie Gilman and Dorothy "Maxine" Norfleet.
He loved baseball games; he played in the minor leagues when younger. Raced competition go-charts through Ford Motor Company, also raced all kinds of race cars. He was very faithful to his at Church of God of Prophecy. He enjoys golfing and fishing. He lived for his grandkids and grandbabies, telling him stories and teaching them silly songs.
Visitation will be held at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Sunday, July 21, 2013 where the family will be present from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Funeral services commemorating the life of Robert E. Minor on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 12:30 PM in the Bachman Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jesse Buie of the Church of God of Prophecy officiating.
