Thomas H. "Tom" Collins, 74, of Bellevue, died May 13, 2013 at home surrounded by family.

He was born the son of Percy and Viola (Idolski) Collins on August 2, 1938 in Battle Creek. Tom served in the U.S. Army before joining Ralston Purina Co. as a millwright. He retired from Local #1102 as a millwright in 2006.

Tom was a hardworking man focused on supporting his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, making smoked meat, spending time at the family cabin, watching television and playing poker. Tom was a member of the Bellevue Poker Club.

He is survived by his wife Dorene (Brown) Collins; sons Thomas "T.C." (Sara) Collins, of Bellevue, Steve "Chipley" Collins of Marshall; grandchildren Steven Collins, Kelsi Collins, and Scott Waltrip; great grandchild Liam Waltrip; sister Shirley Hickey of Battle Creek; many nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 17 from 10:00 - 11:00 am at Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, where service will take place at 11:00 am officiated by Pastor Winford Collins. Memorial donations may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice.
