Thomas Hardy Obituary

Thomas G. Hardy Athens Passed away December 31, 2010. Tom was born February 10, 1942, in Kalamazoo, the son of Arthur and Grace (Fairchild) Hardy. Tom was the fire chief of Athens, and the former fire chief of Hickory Corners. Tom was a millwright for several years, and a member of Millwright Local 1102, of Detroit. He enjoyed hunting, but his real love was being a part of the fire departments. Tom was constantly concerned about his "team". On June 2, 1963, he married the love of his life, Janice Mahoney, who survives. Tom is also survived by a son, John (Erin) Hardy, of Athens; a daughter, Kimberly Hardy, also of Athens; and grandchildren, Avery and Kendra Hardy. A memorial service will be conducted, Saturday, January 15, 2011, 11:00 a.m., at Athens High School Gymnasium, 300 E. Holcomb Street, Athens, Pastor Marvin Savola, officiating. Memorial contributions to, Athens Fire Auxiliary, 130 E. Burr Oak, Athens, MI 49011 will be appreciated. Tom and his family are being cared for by the Williams-Gores Funeral Home in Delton. I went to school with Tom and his mom taught me piano. So sorry to hear of his untimely death! Thoughts are will all of you. My mother, Achsah Munson Evrard also sends her regards. She is 91 years old and remembers Tom and his mother and Aunt Pearl very well.
