John Angood Obituary

John B. Angood Saratoga, CA formerly of Battle Creek, MI John B. Angood, 76, of California died at his home March 10, 2013. He was born December 3, 1936 in Battle Creek the son of S. Bernard and Marguerite (Stevens) Angood. John attended Battle Creek Central High School where he was valedictorian of his 1955 graduating class. He ran Cross Country, was captain of the track team and was on the 1955 Class A State Championship swimming team. John graduated in 1959 from the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan. While at U of M he was President of Delta Chi Fraternity and a member of Phi Eta Sigma Academic Honor Society. On September 5, 1959, John married the former Kathleen Davenport. He worked for the Kellogg Company in Battle Creek and San Leandro, CA. Later he worked as a consulting engineer for hospitals around the country until his retirement a few years ago. In addition to his wife, members of John's family include his daughters Beth (Dixon) Hinderaker, Allison (Phil) Duffy, grandchildren; Victoria, Nicci and Jonathan Hinderaker, Ian and Phillip Duffy all of California and his brother Arthur (Judy) Angood of Battle Creek. Following cremation, no services are planned.

Our condolences go to you Kathy and your family. I went to school with John in the elementary, jr. high and high school. He was so well liked and a great leader in all his endeavors. We shall miss him.
