Bradenton, FL- Walter H. ''Bud'' Gage, Jr., 81, Bradenton, died February 14, 2013. Born in Battle Creek, Michigan he moved to Bradenton in 1983. Bud graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1949 and attended Carnegie Mellon University and Lehigh University. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was Honorably discharged in 1954. Bud was an avid car, coin and gun collector and he loved the University of Michigan, playing golf and cards. Bud married the love of his life Barbara and joined his father at the Gage Printing Company in Battle Creek and went on to run the company for over 30 years before retiring to Florida. Bud's passion in life was being involved in competitive swimming with his kids at all levels including AAU, YMCA, High School, and College. Survived by son, Trip (Bridget) of Bradenton, FL; daughters, Jane (George) Esahak-Gage and Marty Gage both of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Martha Page of Chapel Hill, NC; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. Inurnment will be with Military Honors, Graveside, 10:00 AM Monday May 6, 2013 in Sarasota National Cemetery 9810 State Road 72 Sarasota, FL 34241.
