Beth Anne (Fry) Burgett Athens Beth Anne (Fry) Burgett passed away suddenly January 27, 2013 at home. Beth was born September 11, 1955 to Dana and Alice (Snyder) Fry in Athens and grew up on the family farm in East Leroy. Beth graduated from Athens High School in 1973. She also attended the Calhoun County Vocational Center. She immediately went to work at the Federal Center in Battle Creek and retired in 2007. Beth married Larry Burgett May 27, 2000. They have one child, Elaine Burgett of Athens. Beth had previously been married to Winston Parnell and they had two children Eric (Kalyn) Parnell of Union City and Sarah (Erik) Korn of Athens. Her step children with him are Ray Parnell of Battle Creek, Tina Wood of Frankfort, Kentucky and Lisa Daye, Huntington Beach, California and Jeff Parnell who passed in 1995. Beth was the oldest sister to Zane (Kerry) Fry of East Leroy, Margo (David) Cummins of Climax, and David (Lori) Fry of Fulton. When she and Larry married they combined their families and Larry's son's Jason Burgett and Jarek (Nicole) Jones and their children became a big part of her life. Beth enjoyed her country life and family. Tuesday was reserved for grandkids, however many other days were filled with their presence. Her home was a place where cousins went to become friends. She will be missed by them. Beth enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, knitting, family and friends. For the last six years she has organized a Christmas party for the families that stayed at S.A.F.E. Place where she and Larry played Santa and Mrs. Clause. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to S.A.F.E. Place. A celebration of Beth's life will take place Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 3 until 6:00 p.m. at the Robin's Nest in Battle Creek.
