Betty Lou Mehl Bangor Formerly of Saginaw Betty Lou Mehl, 88, passed away peacefully with her family at her side, on Thursday, March 14, 2013. Betty was born December 5, 1924, in Saginaw, MI, the child of Albert and Iva (King) Christensen, who preceded her in death. She attended Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw, and was retired from the Battle Creek Lakeview Public Schools where she was a secretary for many years. Betty was fiercely proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who survive: John A., Sharon K., and Linda L. Mehl, all of Bangor, with whom she resided; Gary L. and Pamela A. Mehl, of Battle Creek, their children Aaron (Heather) Mehl, with great-grandchildren Jordan and Reagan Mehl, of Virginia, and Corrie Ann Mehl, of Battle Creek; Timothy and Patricia Mehl, of Galesburg, their children Kelly Mehl (Ransom Cannon) of Missouri, and Andrew (Rebekka) Mehl, with great-grandson Jakob and soon-to-be great-granddaughter Hanna, of Kalamazoo; and Susan Mehl, of San Antonio, TX. In addition, Betty is survived by her sisters Donna Furlo, Shirley (Harry) Dowd, and brothers Larry (Barbara) Christensen and Jerry (Barbara) Christensen, and their families, many cousins and their families. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sister June Griffus, and brothers Edward Christensen and James Christensen. Family will receive friends Sunday March 17, 5 to 7 p.m. and Monday 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Fr. Joseph Xavier officiating. Interment to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorials contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw or St. Mary's School, Paw Paw.
