Bill "Gilly" Gilkison Obituary
Bill "Gilly" Gilkison On April 2, 2013, Jesus wrapped his loving arms around Bill and took him home. Cancer took a quick toll on his body. He was born January 29, 1942 (71 years old) to Margaret (Pierce) Gilkison and Steve Gilkison. They are deceased. He is survived by daughters, Sue (Frank) Morgan and Melissa DeGayner; and grandchildren, Audrey and Mason Morgan; wife of 49 years, Chris; also brothers, Gary (Connie) Hunter and Rich (Cynde) Gilkison. He worked for the Calhoun County Road Commission for 30 years. He also worked many second jobs including: Top Kut Meats, Aim, Damron, Village Inn and others, always to care for his family. He served his country honorably in the US Army and was stationed in Korea. He was a member of American Legion Post #54, the Police Academy of Battle Creek and was in charge of a retirement monthly breakfast. He happily gave his time to Mike's Place Center of Ministry doing yard maintenance, as working for God. Bill had many accomplishments, including being a good worker. He will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Sunday, April 7, 2013 after 2 PM where the family will be present 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 11:30 AM. Interment will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
