Bonita Loretta Henney Battle Creek Bonita Loretta Henney, age 79, of Battle Creek, died Wednesday November 7, 2012 at her home. Bonita was born June 29, 1933, in Hastings, Michigan to Roy and LaMoine (Everett) Henney and came to Battle Creek in 1942. Bonita graduated from Wright's Beauty Academy and operated Beautyland Salon for eight years. She had been employed by Krum's Photography, and was a craft instructor for the City of Battle Creek at the Valentine Center for 12 years; she had also worked for Goodwill Industries. Bonita was a member of the Urbandale Baptist Church and was an organizer and chairman of the Urbandale Area Homecoming for over 20 years. Bonita was the Grand Marshall of the Urbandale Homecoming Parade in 2001. Bonita was a graduate of the Citizens Police Academy and was a member of the Urbandale Neighborhood Council. She had also served as a leader of the Camp Fire Girls. She is survived by many friends. Bonita wish was to make an anatomical gift to the University of Michigan Medical School, no services will be held. Memorials may be given to the Police Relief Fund in care of the Battle Creek Police Department. Arrangements are by the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service.
