Candace Shook Tallahassee Candace Shook, 93, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013. During WWII she worked for Percy Jones Army Hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan. Candace quit work to raise her family, returning to work at Jacobson's Department store from which she retired. She lived in Battle Creek, Michigan until 1988, moved to Bradenton Beach, Florida in 1988 and joined her children in Tallahassee in 1995. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, and most of all spending time with her family. Candace is preceeded in death by her husband, Ramon, a son, Gerald Shook, and a brother, Jack Tutewiler. She is survived by her daughter, Judith Lamb (Dr. Sam Lamb) of Tallahassee; daughter-in-law, B.J. Quinn of Sacramento, California; nephew, Ronnie Tutewiler of Bradenton Beach, Florida.; niece, Joann Gryczka of Melbourne, Florida. A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Leon County Humane Society, 413 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida, 32312 or the Children's Home Society, 1801 Miccosukee Commons Dr Tallahassee, FL 32308.
