Clarence W. Record Battle Creek Clarence Warren Record, 84, of Battle Creek, died December 19, 2012 at Laurels of Bedford. He was born June 30, 1928, the son of Paul E. and Pearl H. (Vedder) Record in Leroy Township. After serving on the U.S. Army during the Korean War, Clarence worked as a bookkeeper in the accounts receivable department at J.O. Galloup for 46 ½ years, retiring in 1993. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara M. (Davis) Record; his parents; his sisters, Marion Baker, Doris Graff, Arlene Byrd Peck and Ethel Patterson; brothers, Wendell Record and Gordon Record. Clarence is survived by his daughter, Karen Record Dilling of Battle Creek; son, Robert Record of Wooton, Kentucky; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren and sister, Ellen (T. J.) Tramel of Battle Creek. Clarence enjoyed working crossword puzzles and watching golf, football, baseball and NASCAR. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at Shaw Funeral Home, where services will take place 1:00 p.m. with Rev. James Gysel officiating.
