Cloretta Rickman Obituary

Cloretta Rickman Battle Creek Departed this life on Monday, September 13, 2010. She was born in Bolivar County in Shelby, Mississippi on February 2, 1928. Cloretta was the sixth of the family of seven children born to the late Mrs. Nina Ann Perry and the Late Mr. Paul Jones Perry, Sr. Cloretta moved to Battle Creek, Michigan in 1949. Cloretta is known for her willingness to help others, she never meet a person that she did not like. Family was very important to her as she loved them dearly. Cloretta enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling and spending time with her family. Cloretta is survived by her two daughters: Linda Porter-Todd and Constance Porter both of Battle Creek, Michigan; four grandchildren: Candice Jennis-Hart of Atlanta, Georgia, Vernod Jennis of San Antonio, Texas, Jennifer Clark Denson of Belleville, Michigan, Cloretta Porter-Daniels of Gainesville, Florida; six great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Cloretta is preceded in death by her daughter: Paulette; her two sisters: Maryetta Grays, and Marie Perry; her four brothers: Jonathan Perry, Paul Jones Perry, Jr., Oscar Perry, and Percy Perry. Although Cloretta has departed from this life, she will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A Private Service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. The Family will receive friends and will wishers at Second Baptist Church 485 Washington Ave. at 12:00 noon.
