Dave H. Brown

Dave H. Brown Battle Creek Dave H. Brown, 87, of Battle Creek, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2010 at his home. He was born September 23, 1923, in Milburn, WV, the son of Daniel M. and Elsie May (Woods) Brown. Dave served in the United States Army from October 14, 1945 to August 17, 1946. Dave was employed as a nurse's aide at the Battle Creek Veteran's Administration Medical Center for 47 years. He married the former Beverly Moore on September 22, 1946. She preceded him in death on March 17, 2000. Dave enjoyed playing cards, fishing, gardening, and Detroit Tiger baseball. He is survived by his daughter, Janet VanDusen of Battle Creek, and his sons, Steven (Lois) of Tempe, AZ, and Gary and Dale (Stacy) Brown both of Battle Creek. He also leaves 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. His sisters, Nora Ross and Ethel Olsen, and brothers, Shelby, Glenn (Alma), Willis (Judy), James, and Charlie Brown also survive him. He was preceded by his brother, Ambrose, and sisters, Evelyn and Flora. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Royal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 15, 2010 at Royal Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will be at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
