Dolores Rita Fantin, 82, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014 Mercy Memorial Hospital, Monroe, MI.

Dolores, the daughter of Gilbert and Christine (Pomerville) Porter was born March 15, 1932 in Detroit.  She graduated from St. Cyril High School.  Dolores married Leo D. Fantin on February 6, 1954 in Austin, TX and together they had four beautiful children.

She worked as a secretary and comptometer operator for Carboloy Tool in Detroit for many years until she became a homemaker to raise her family.  Dolores was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a life member of Father Casey Solanus Guild.  She loved reading, cooking, shopping and crocheting.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Leo Fantin; children, Diane (William) Bogan, Linda (Bruce) Cumback all of Battle Creek, John (Kristin) Fantin of Zeeland and Cindy (Les) Nichols of Newport, MI; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sister, Tess Hilla of Roseville and Joan Westfall of Milford.  Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Don and Edward Porter.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Shaw Funeral Home, 2838 Capital Avenue, S.W., where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Monsignor William Fitzgerald, officiating.  Interment, Fort Custer National Cemetery.
