Donald Worthington Obituary

Donald Max Worthington, Sr. Battle Creek Donald Max Worthington, Sr., 77 of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, October 8, 2010 at the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. He was born October 29, 1932 in Dayton, Tennessee the son of Walter and Elizabeth (Mathis) Worthington. Don was a 1951 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at DeNooyer's for 20 years and retired from the Kellogg Company after 23 years of service. Don was a 32nd Degree Mason who enjoyed working in his yard and his 1930 Model A Ford, he also helped build his home as well as his son's home. On July 11, 1952 he was married to the former Lois T. Rench, who survives. Also surviving is his son: Don (Dawn) Worthington and his granddaughters: Alexis Stephanie and Morgan Paige Worthington all of Battle Creek; two sisters: Geraldine Fales of Battle Creek and Janice (Jack) Price of Arkansas; several nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by a daughter: Stephanie Denise Worthington; two sisters: Genevieve Kelley and Betty Smith and his parents. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Siddall officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens with military honors presented by the U.S. Army. Memorial contributions may be directed to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence.

Lois & Don
I am so sorry to hear of Don's passing. He was one of my favorite cousin's. I aslo bought my very first car from him years ago. I remember it had a souped up engine!!! I was so proud of it.
