Dorothy M. (Easton) Purucker Obituary
Dorothy M. (Easton) Purucker Albion Dorothy M. (Easton) Purucker, age 86 of Albion, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence in Battle Creek, Michigan. She was born in 1926 to Fred and Bernice (Measel) Easton in Homer, MI. She graduated from Homer High in 1944. In 1946, she married her sweetheart, Leo C. Purucker, in Albion and they were married for 57 years until his death. She has lived in Albion for 46 years and was a member of St. John Catholic Church. She took pride in making baby blankets for their Christmas baskets. Dorothy was a loving, caring and devoted mother that always made family a priority. Dorothy was the Manager of Amico Credit Union, Albion for 12 years and bookkeeper for her husband at Leo the Appliance Lion in Battle Creek for 25 years before her retirement in 2001. She is survived by son Chris (Arlene) Purucker of Hastings, MI, and 2 daughters Charmaine (Tom) Henke of Hastings, MI, and Kimberly (Richard) Granaas of West Seneca, NY, 7 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild, 2 sisters, Beverly Easton of Albion, MI and Marlene Semon of Homer, MI. Besides her husband, Leo, she is predeceased by her parents, brother Denzil Easton, and sister Maxine Taber and her faithful canine companion, Sarah. Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 1:00-3:00 and 4:00-6:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, MI 49224. Funeral Mass Services will be held Monday, November 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's memory to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence of Battle Creek, MI, Humane Society of South Central Michigan Battle Creek, MI, and St. John Catholic Church; Albion, MI, will be available at the Funeral Home.
