Erdine (Warren) Lewis

Summerfield, FL

Erdine (Warren) Lewis, age 86, of lorida and formally of Battle Creek, passed away on Septemberl 24, 2015.  She was born on March 27, 1929 in Battle Creek to John and Othar (Wright) Warren.  She had two brothers, Frank and Walter Warren, who along with her parents are deceased.

She graduated in 1947 from Battle Creek Central High School where she served as an editor of the Paean Yearbook.  While in Battle Creek she was employed by Michigan Bell Telephone, Riverside Insurance Co., and Farm Bureau Insurance.  After leaving Battle Creek she was a manager for LaQuinta Hotels in Texas and Florida, and eventually became a very successful Real Estate agent in the Villages, Florida.  She was a founding member of St. George's Episcopal Church in the Villages where she also served as a lay minister and head of the Altar Guild.  In Battle Creek she was a former member of Battle Creek Chapter #355 Order of the Eastern Star, board member for the Order of the Rainbow for Girls, and a member of Church of the Resurrection.

On May 18, 1972 she married Glenn Lewis.  She is survived by her husband as well as her children from her first marriage to Robert Owen:  Bob (Debbie) Owen of E. Lansing, MI, John (Kathy) Owen of Battle Creek, MI, Terry Owen of Lincoln, NE, and Becky (Bernie) Squires of Battle Creek, MI.  She is also survived by step-sons Jeff (Tammy) Lewis of Ceresco, MI and Greg (Mary) Lewis of Battle Creek, along with 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at St. George's Episcopal Church in the Villages, Florida.  Memorials may be sent to the church in Florida or locally, to the Battle Creek Community Foundation.
