Fern E. Johnson Battle Creek Fern E. Johnson, age 86, of Galesburg, MI, formerly of Battle Creek, MI, died at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI on Friday afternoon, January 20, 2012. The Funeral Service to celebrate Fern's life will be held on Tuesday, January 24th at 11:00 a.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Battle Creek, with Mr. Michael J. Sofia of Grand Rapids, MI, officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pennfield West Hicks Cemetery, Pennfield Township. Memorial contributions in honor of Fern may be made to the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary, 12685 East C Avenue, Augusta, MI, 49012.
