Frances Cunic, 91,  passed away March 1, 2015 at Yarnell Adult Foster Care Home in Battle Creek. She was born March 13, 1923, the daughter of Jay and Maude (Avery) Hayes in Leroy Township, Michigan.

She married M. Richard "Dick" Cunic on January 31, 1942. She was employed at Kelloggs and also Athens Rexall Drug Store as a retail clerk for 12 years.  Frances was a member of the Athens Methodist Church, UMW, past president for the VFW Auxiliary and a den mother for the Boy Scouts.  She attended Athens High School.

Frances is survived by sons, Stephen (Marilyn) Brunner of Athens; Randy Cunic of Ludington; Bradley (Laura) Cunic of Greenville, South Carolina; daughter, Patricia Hoag of East Leroy; sister Louise Mench of Colorado; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Michiel, three sisters, two brothers, two granddaughters, one grandson, and son-in-law Thomas Hoag in 2010.

Visitation from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Shaw Funeral Home.

Services 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 5, 2015 with Rev. Andy Baek officiating.  Interment, Burr Oak Cemetery, Athens.

Memorials can be made to the Bronson at Home Hospice Residence.

The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home, Battle Creek.
